augsburg contemporary is a project space for innovative positions in contemporary art. Owner Andreas Stucken has been showing site-specific, conceptual works, painting, photography, sculpture since 2019 and presents selected artists at art fairs such as POSITIONS Berlin, paper positions vienna and art karlsruhe. Past projects include the exhibition series "Domestic Space", which was funded by the German Government as part of NEUSTART KULTUR, and the network project "Art X Augsburg". Andreas Stucken is also increasingly active as a curator for international artists. For example, he curated the exhibitions “Hybrid Structures” by Chinese artist Tang Hui at the Searching Art Center in Gulangyu, Fujian, China (2025), as well as “reflections” at the Neue Galerie Landshut (2025) and “DEGI-DEGI” at Domagk-Halle 50, Munich (2020) by the American artist Mark Harrington. Together with Sean Scully, he organized two exhibitions in Berlin (“Spider,” 1981) and Aichach (“Holly,” 2004). | *Andreas Stucken, born in Bremen in 1957, began his career in 1975 at the Kabinett für aktuelle Kunst in Bremerhaven, founded the Museum für (Sub-)Kultur in Berlin in 1981, served as chairman of the Kunstverein Aichach from 2001 to 2011, and is currently the owner of the online gallery Zweigstelle Berlin and the project space augsburg contemporary.
